Canon releases its first ever 4K resolution HDSLR. What’s with the 4K battle going on right now between all the big league players? Sony, Canon, and RED with Panasonic and Aaton pulling up the rear. Honestly I’m a little scared to think that we’re already leaving 1080p in the dust – that freaks me out! I fell like I just finished buying all the gear I need to shoot 1080p really well and now we’re talking about 4K being the new normal. AHHHH! NO! SLOW DOWN! TOO EXPENSIVE! but at the same time kind of cool and definitely exciting! I’d bet in just a few years 4K will be at an affordable price rather than the $15,000 price tag Canon put on this camera.
All that said, Canon is doing some pretty cool stuff, not to mention they announced a big brother to the C300 aptly named the C500 and it feels like it’s only been a few months since the C300 came out. Craziness!
I’m not planning on buying one of these bad boys any time soon but it’s cool to know we’re on our way…
